Internet Layer

Layer used to transmit network packets received from a device to the destination specified by its IP address.

Link layer

The layer that actually passes data and sets the rules for signaling back and forth between devices, also known as the network access layer.

• Physical layer: The layer that sends data consisting of 0s and 1s over the LAN.

• Data link layer: The layer responsible for error checking, flow and access control over Ethernet frames.
